I have to say, creating Hunchback has been quite a journey for me both professionally and personally. I’ve learned so much, more than I could have ever anticipated. Perhaps, most importantly, I’ve learned that it’s not about how you start. It’s about how you finish. And I am in awe with what we will be sharing with our audiences beginning tonight. Sometimes, the work I am blessed to help create transcends all of my expectations and belief of what is possible. This is one of those times. My team of story tellers have created a wonderfully passionate, beautiful, relevant and dynamic tale to tell. Against all odds we are here. I love my team of artists. They are fearless and tenacious and the work they are doing is magical. They’ve made me a better artist and through their heart and commitment I am reminded of the inspirational power and beauty of our art form. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and love. Have fun tonight, my little birdies. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you. XO

Quick post to say I am SO proud of my incredible team of artists. Here a few photos from dress rehearsal. We open tomorrow! Join us, won't you? XOXO I have been in hiding working on creating The Hunchback of Notre Dame and thought it might be time to come up for air! We are less than a month away from opening night and I have to say - what a ride this has been so far! My cast and production team are working their tails off to bring this beast of a show to life and I am starting to see the glimmers of where it needs to be. It's exciting! Directing is such a different kind of fulfillment and stress. Tonight, I finish blocking the show and I'm going to feel like I've had a baby! I can't wait to get it all into their brains so I can start on my favorite part of this process from behind the table - honing the work and coaching my actors. The journey thus far has been a roller coaster for a plethora of reasons but I am reminded that the creative reward and fulfillment is why I do this. I love my art and my actors. I can't wait to see where we land on October 21st. xo I am elated to share that GPAS will be launching the theatre leg of its organization, Greece Theatre Company, with the regional premiere of a show that has never been performed on Broadway or on tour before . . . Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame! I'll be directing! Here's the link to their evolving website. . . Details on the new Greece Theatre Company: http://www.greeceperformingarts.org/greece-theatre xo I haven't been on here too much because I have been busy busy busy launching my own business!!! It's been an amazing and crazy few months. BUT now that I have that up and running I am ready to dive back into my other business . . . theatre! I've just signed on to direct a show in the fall and I can't wait to share it with you once I am allowed to. I am also looking forward to getting back onstage this year. Stay tuned! It's all VERY exciting!!! More to come soon . . . xo |
